Immediate action such be taken to enable the telecom architecture for the future. One best step is usually to move dial plan management and call routing onto directory-enabled gateways. Another way is to define the enterprises preferred Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider in some combination of external and internal services.

The IT security teams must establish guidelines for any new communication service in your enterprise. It must be assured that user-driven selections of cloud-based communications apps are identified early on because such guidelines already exist for software applications.
