FREMONT, CA: In the latest 2021 world 5G convention, China reiterated its commitment towards accelerating the adoption of 5G technology. The convention, themed "5G+ By All For All", kick-started in Beijing Etrong International Exhibition and Convention Center and was attended by more than 1500 experts, entrepreneurs, scholars from 20 different participating countries, who participated via online and offline channels to discuss the future application of 5G technology in various industries. The convention was co-hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and the National Development and Reform Commission.
According to MIIT, 993,000 5G base stations have been built across China since 5G came into commercial use. More than 392 million households are currently connected to 5G terminals, with the base stations covering more than 95% of the country. Over 10000 5G applications have covered 22 important industries related to the fields of the national economy, including Steel, mining, and electric power. Numerous other application scenarios are also being developed by China 5G technology companies. A new generation of information technology presented by contemporary concepts such as artificial intelligence and big data are promoting and accelerating the evolution of 5G technology at a much faster rate than expected. The technology has a far-reaching impact on the country's economic development, improving people’s livelihoods and ecology. As China slowly enters a new stage of 5G development, scientific technology innovations are on the rise. China also presents a vast potential market of diversifying customer demands which emerging industries can leverage to broaden their businesses.
Several Chinese authorities have continuously demonstrated their dedication to continuously corporate with private sector entities to develop 5G technologies and strengthen international cooperation. The country is also inviting universities, research institutes, and entrepreneurs worldwide to join it in the future R&D of 5G.
